Tun Mohamed Hanif Omar

Tun Mohammed Hanif bin Omar was born on the 16th of January 1939. He was the forth (4th) Malaysian Inspector General Of Police and also the longest serving IGP for over 20 years. He replaced his predecessor Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Hashim was assasinated by communist activists. Born in Teluk Intan, Perak, Tun Haniff Omar was appointed to be the Chief of Police for the state of Melaka on the 7th of September 1970, and Chief for the state of Selangor on the 6th of December 1971. Later on the 1st of February 1973 he became the Deputy IGP. After his retirement, he was appionted to be a member of the Commission to enhance the operations and administration of the RMP from 2004 to 2005. Tun Hanif Omar is currently the Patron for Yayasan Pengaman Malaysia. |
