Tan Sri Norian Mai

Tan Sri Norian Mai was born on the 5th of  November 1946 and was the sixth Inspector General of Police for Malaysia serving from the 8t of July 1999 until his retirement on the 5th of November 2003.

Born in Hilir Perak, he started his career as "Kadet Penolong Penguasa Polis" on the 8th of November 1969. On the 31st of December 1984, he was appointed to be the Chief of Police for the state  Terengganu and later on the 31st of December 1992, he was appointed to be the Selangor Police Chief.

He went to be the Deputy Inspector General of Police on the 6th of July 1997 and on the 8th of January 1999, he succeeded Tan Sri Rahim Noor and became the 6th IGP.

Tan Sri Norian Mai is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Yayasan Pengaman Malaysia.
